Certain event Show/Hide
An event with probability equal to one (will definitely happen).
Example: the sun will rise tomorrow
Impossible event  Show/Hide
An event with the probability of zero (it cannot happen)
Example: Roll 13 on two 6-sided dice
Equally likely Show/Hide
That have the same chance of occurring. Example: The outcomes of a fair coin toss are equally likely.
Fair Show/Hide
An experiment where all of the outcomes
are equally probable.
Example: If I throw one die once the probability of getting any one of the six numbers is 1/6
Complementary events Show/Hide
The complement of any event A is the event [not A]. One and only one of the two events must occur.
Example: P[heads] + P[not heads] = 1
P[not A] = 1 - P[A]
Example: If the probability that it will rain here tomorrow is 0.6, then the probability that it will not rain here tomorrow is 1− 0.6= 0.4
